After retiring from coaching on January 1st of this year, Bruce Arians made it clear he was interested in entering the broadcast industry. According to Bob McManaman of the Arizona Republic, Arians is close to making a decision on where his voice will be heard next season.
“It should be (announced) in the next few weeks, booth or studio,” Arians said. “I’m kind of back and forth. I’m looking at the booth because in the booth gives me the ability to go to practices, see the coaches, see the players and stay in the game.”
Arians told McManaman his colorful language during the job interview already had networks warming up the mute button.
“That’s the voice coach’s job, you know what I mean?” Arians told AZCentral while laughing. “Hey, give me some new words. … My first interview was like, ‘I didn’t know you couldn’t use those words.’ The second one was clean.”
It’s still unknown as to which network Arians might be headed, but high-profile positions remain available with Thursday Night Football on Fox and ESPN’s Monday Night Football. However, based on rumored candidates, Arians would be a longshot for either of those opportunities.
