SiriusXM and The PGA of America agreed to a five-year extension, allowing the satellite platform to continue live PGA of America broadcasts for events including major championships and the biennial Ryder Cup.
“We are very pleased to be extending our long-standing relationship with the PGA of America. It ensures that we will continue to offer our subscribers the best and most comprehensive golf coverage available,” said Scott Greenstein, SiriusXM’s President and Chief Content Officer. “We will continue to deliver broadcasts of the PGA Championship and Ryder Cup nationwide.”
Through their agreement, a new weekly talk show, PGA of America Radio, will debut on August 8th and air every Wednesday at 4pm ET. The show will focus on instruction and analysis from expert PGA members, major PGA of America golf events and offer unique insider’s perspective from special guests throughout the industry.
“The addition of PGA of America Radio to the SiriusXM lineup, which we have built to be an excellent platform for golf instruction, gives our listeners, no matter where they are, access to the skillful teaching of dedicated PGA Professionals,” added Greenstein.
“The reach of SiriusXM is a difference-maker, and the PGA of America is delighted to extend our partnership,” said PGA of America Chief Commercial Officer Jeff Price. “The passion and excitement of the PGA Championship and 2020 Ryder Cup will be presented to an engaged audience through state-of-the-art platforms and devices. Additionally, the exciting new PGA of America Radio show will serve as a weekly destination for golf fans to uniquely connect with PGA Members and grow the game.”
SiriusXM broadcasts most PGA Tour events during the season, including the Masters, U.S. Open, Open Championship, PGA Championship and Ryder Cup. Those events, along with the new show, PGA of America Radio, can be heard on SiriusXM radio, Sirius channel 208 and XM channel 92, as well as streamed online and via their app on mobile and at home connected devices.
