This year marked the transition of Rachel Maddow away from being a daily news host at MSNBC as she works on other projects, which is part of her new contract. As a result, it’s been a revolving door of hosts filling for Maddow’s time away.

However, that’s all about to change as Alex Wagner is succeeding Rachel Maddow as the weekday host of MSNBC’s 9 p.m. hour, four days a week, Tuesday through Friday.

In an interview with the New York TimesMSNBC president Rashida Jones shared the news about Wagner being the new permanent host for the four days that Maddow is away.

“This is not a show where our hair is on fire, and we’re yelling past each other, and we’re creating these manufactured moments of tension. I really want the takeaway from this show to be a better understanding of what’s happening in the world,” Jones said regarding the show’s format under Wagner.

Wagner rejoined MSNBC this past February as a political analyst and guest host in primetime, mostly filling in for Maddow and occasionally for Chris Hayes. Furthermore, Wagner becomes the only Asian American to host a primetime cable news show.

Her show debuts on Aug. 16, and the name has not been announced.

Chris Wallace joined CNN’s “At This Hour” to discuss a New York Times article suggesting that President Joe Biden shouldn’t run again.

According to a transcript published on Breitbart, Wallace said Democrats don’t want Biden to run again in 2024 because of his age.

“I think 75%of Democrats say they would like to see another Democratic nominee for president in 2024,” said Biden.

Wallace said he’s witnessed farewells plenty of times, especially in the media, which he referred to as the gold watch sent off.

“Look; obviously, the success after a lot of stalemate, the success of the last month or so by Joe Biden is impressive, and it will change the narrative,” Wallace said. “We will be talking about everything he has accomplished.”

‘You know what, I’m excited by the idea of a guy who on next inauguration day would be 82 running for election again,’ I’m not so sure about that,” he added.

Last week, a verdict announced that InfoWars’ Alex Jones must pay $4.1 million in compensatory damages to the parents of 6-year-old Jesse Lewis, who was murdered in the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting.

Fox News host Trey Gowdy tore into Jones on Sunday, recounting the horror of that day and the grieving process from the parent’s perspective in a lengthy monologue.

“How does someone capable of exploiting the pain, of denying the obvious gain any audience in this country?” Gowdy said of Jones. “Why would anyone go on his show? On the list of despicable things to do – telling the parents of murdered children that their children really weren’t murdered ranks pretty high.”

“We shouldn’t need a jury, or a judge or a courtroom to condemn that kind of person and behavior. He tells lies for money and then when his own money is on the line, he admits the obvious. The only war he is waging is on the truth.”

Gowdy became the latest cable news media host to rip into Jones as MSNBC host Mehdi Hasan went after the talk show host and the Republican Party for giving him legitimacy to Jones by appearing on his program.

“Alex Jones should have been rejected by Republican leaders and lawmakers, but instead, he was shamefully embraced,” Hasan said.
